Passive Monitoring of Control Loops in Building Automation
نویسندگان
چکیده
The monitoring of control loop performance in building automation is important for decreasing the maintenance costs. Passive monitoring with network analyzers is inexpensive and does not influence the network load. However, control signals that are not transmitted over the network are unobservable. This paper purposes an approach to the reconstruction of missing control signals and the computation of control loop performance parameters. The analysis algorithms are adapted to the non-uniform sampling that is widely spread in building automation. Further, criteria of loop performance and network traffic for passive monitoring are introduced. Copyright © 2005 IFAC

Flow-Based Security Issue Detection in Building Automation and Control Networks
The interconnection of building automation and control system networks to public networks has exposed them to a wide range of security problems. This paper provides an overview of the flow data usability to detect security issue in these networks. The flow-based monitoring inside automation and control networks is a novel approach. In this paper, we describe several use cases in which flow moni...
متن کاملTraffic Measurement and Analysis of Building Automation and Control Networks
This paper proposes a framework for a flow-based network traffic monitoring of building automation and control networks. Current approaches to monitor special environment networks are limited to checking accessibility and a state of monitored devices. On the other hand, current generation of flow-based network monitoring tools focuses only on the IP traffic. These tools do not allow to observe ...

Wireless building automation is one of the emerging technologies nowadays. Currently, InfraRed, Radio Frequency, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are been used for this purpose but they have numerous disadvantages associated with them such as high complexity and higher power consumption. But, certain wireless monitoring and control applications for building automation demand lower power consumption, less co...
متن کاملOPTIMIZATION-BASED MONITORING-SUPPORTED CALIBRATION OF A THERMAL PERFORMANCE SIMULATION MODEL
Building performance simulation is being increasingly deployed beyond the building design phase to support efficient building operation. Specifically, the predictive feature of the simulation-assisted building systems control strategy provides distinct advantages in view of building systems with high latency and inertia. Such advantages can be exploited only if model predictions can be relied u...
متن کاملSemi-active Control of Building Structures using Variable Stiffness Device and Fuzzy Logic
Semi-active control devices, also called “Intelligent” control devices, constitute the positive aspects of both the passive and active control devices. A semi-active control strategy is similar to the active control strategy, but this control device has been shown to be more energy-efficient than active devices. A particular type of semi-active control device, the Variable Stiffness Device (VSD...
